Population-weighted estimates indicated that 31.37% of the population increased consumption during lockdown, 30.32% decreased consumption and 38.31% reported unchanged consumption. The magnitude of change was higher for "decreasers" than "increasers", resulting in a slight reduction in overall consumption. A multiple regression analysis revealed that age, occupational status, number of cohabitants, perceived alcohol accessibility, drinking motivations and previous consumption predicted consumption changes. Dealing with interference is closely linked to inhibitory functions, since inhibition is needed to suppress automatic, but undesired behavior. The aim of this study was to investigate the role of three different inhibition dimensions for interference control in motor skill change. To this end, 42 participants performed three tests each measuring a different dimension of inhibition resistance to distractor interference (Eriksen-Flanker Task), resistance to proactive interference (Brown-Peterson Variant) and prepotent response inhibition (Stop-Signal Task). To examine the amount of proactive interference in a motor skill change task, participants were then asked to type a short paragraph as fast and accurately as possible on a regular computer keyboard. After this baseline measure, in order to induce proactive interference, they were confronted with a manipulated keyboard on which the letters S and L were switched. This change led to an immediate performance decline, observable in increased typing times and errors. Results also showed that larger performance decrements were significantly associated with better baseline performance, lower scores on prepotent response inhibition and higher scores on resistance to distractor interference. Besides supporting the idea of inhibition as a multidimensional construct, these findings replicate and confirm recent research indicating that the success in motor skill change is predicted by the ability to suppress prepotent response tendencies.To examine the effectiveness and safety of prophylactic internal iliac artery balloon occlusion for hemorrhage control in placenta accreta.

Further large randomized controlled studies are needed to confirm our findings.This study investigated the regeneration of PFAS-saturated granular activated carbons (GACs) by microwave (MW) irradiation. Two commercially available GACs (bituminous coal based GAC [BCGAC] and lignite coal based GAC [LCGAC]) were saturated with perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA) and perfluorooctane sulfonic acid (PFOS) and then irradiated at different MW conditions (applied power = 125 - 500 W, irradiation time = 3 - 12 min). The performance of MW regeneration for PFOS- or PFOA-saturated GACs was assessed by evaluating the variation of GAC adsorption capacity (regeneration efficiency, RE) and weight loss percentage (WL). Moreover, the effect of MW irradiation on GAC textural properties (e.g., surface area and pore volume) was examined through N2 adsorption isotherms.
